He has been to the vet twice & the vet has done skin tests that came back clean & gave us antibiotics and sent us on our way. The antibiotics have done nothing for him. We have another dog (a Black Lab) & she is fine. We are getting them new dog food tmrw & picking up some cod liver oil pills. Is their anything else I can do to help him? Homemade conditioner? Anything!
The vet did give us special shampoo.

For those who make their own food, how do you keep the cost manageable?
I have 4 large dogs and I want to make their food but it is SO expensive. I don’t dare feed raw because I worry about the meat sources.
I currently feed the crappy kibble choices available here and sometimes cook up ground beef, frozen carrots and peas, pumpkin and white rice. (There seems to be a debate about white vs brown rice. Totally confused on that too.) I’d like to make their food all the time but need to find some other meat sources that aren’t so expensive and simple recipes. I’m not a great cook, so I don’t really know how to cook food with bones. For example, chicken. I’m guessing you would boil it and take it off the bone?
Also, for those who give their dogs fish oil, do you just buy fish oil pills from the grocery store or pharmacy? Anything else they need in their diet?

We have 4 beautiful Golden Retrievers. For some reason their flea medicine is no longer working for them. We have switched from advantage to frontline to advantix and yet they all still have fleas. We have bought sprays and shampoos for them but nothing seems to help. Our poor "Old Man" he’s 13 has always had extremely bad allergies and after 4 vets and over ,000 in vet bills nothing has really helped him. We give all of them olive oil in there food, vitamins, and benadryl but this year it is not just our old guy but all of our babies. Any advice on home cures would be welcome. We have a good friend that is a vet tech and she says somtimes dogs just have really bad allergies. OK I can accept that for 1 dog but all 4? I don’t want to see them suffer. I have no problem spending the money on a vet if it would help but so far nothing they have given us has helped. They tell us to change their flea medicine, etc. 4 dogs, 4 vets, and close to k later I’m looking for alternatives. All of our babies are very well behaved and will accept any treatment given to them even if it takes several hours. Please help.

I am going to start trapping this fall and i don’t know what type of bait you use for fox but I found a recipe online for a bait made of dog food, peanut butter, and honey for coon bait. Preferably homemade baits. I am remarkably broke.
